Atlantic Council

The Atlantic Council is a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit think tank funded by foreign governments, defense contractors, and corporations, with no single private owner. It promotes transatlantic cooperation and U.S. global engagement from a broadly centrist, pro-NATO Atlanticist perspective. Its posture toward the second Trump administration has been mixed: the Council has hosted senior administration officials and had its research cited by the White House, while also tracking and raising concerns about tariff and trade policies that conflict with its free-trade, alliance-oriented outlook.
