The Bangor Daily News is Maine's largest daily newspaper, independently owned by the same family for four generations and headquartered in Bangor. Although the paper historically leaned conservative and Republican, it has shifted left editorially over the past decade, endorsing Democratic presidential candidates in 2016, 2020, and 2024. Its coverage and editorial positions have generally been critical of the Trump administration in both his first and second terms.
