Blue Ridge Public Radio / WHQR

U.S. mainstream public media (NPR member stations); center-left tilt typical of NPR-style news

BPR (Asheville) and WHQR (Wilmington) are two independent, member-supported nonprofit NPR stations in North Carolina. Their news mixes local reporting with NPR national content and is generally mainstream public-media in tone. Their coverage of the Trump administration is mostly straightforward and fact-based, with most criticism coming through news about federal cuts and local impacts. I did not do a systematic content audit.

Owned byTwo separate nonprofits, not one outlet. Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR) is owned by Western North Carolina Public Radio, Inc., an independent nonprofit with a local board. WHQR is operated by Friends of Public Radio, Inc., a Wilmington nonprofit.
