Common Cause NC

U.S. center-left advocacy

Common Cause NC is the North Carolina chapter of Common Cause, a national nonprofit advocacy organization — not a traditional news outlet — that campaigns for voting rights, government transparency, and campaign finance reform. Although it describes itself as nonpartisan, its positions consistently align with center-left policy priorities and routinely conflict with Republican legislative agendas. Since the start of Trump's second term in January 2025, the national organization and its NC affiliate have been sharply critical, filing lawsuits over voting-roll policy, opposing executive actions on elections, and calling for the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment.
