Construction Enquirer
UK trade/industry press (non-political)
Background
Construction Enquirer was launched in 2010 by Aaron Morby and Grant Prior, both former editors/news editors at established UK trade titles Construction News and Contract Journal. They built it as a free, fast-moving breaking-news service for construction professionals, monetized through advertising and a widely read daily email bulletin rather than subscriptions. The site has grown into one of the most-read UK construction trade outlets, known for scoops on contractor insolvencies, project awards, and industry job cuts. It remains a small, independently run operation rather than part of a larger publisher, distinguishing it from bigger rivals like Construction News (owned by Metropolis International) or Building magazine. Its coverage is industry-specific and largely apolitical, focused on UK construction firms, government infrastructure contracts, and building regulations rather than broader national or international politics. As a UK-focused trade publication, it has no established track record of covering U.S. federal politics or the Trump administration.
