El Tiempo is Colombia's largest and most widely circulated national newspaper, owned since 2012 by Luis Carlos Sarmiento Angulo, Colombia's wealthiest individual, through his Grupo Aval financial holding company. It has historically leaned center to center-left with deep ties to the Colombian Liberal Party establishment, though its editorial line today is broadly centrist.
