The Federal is an English-language digital outlet founded in 2019 and owned by a private Chennai media company, New Generation Media. It describes itself as looking at India from the perspective of the states, especially the south, and it leans toward federalist and liberal-leaning framing on Indian politics. I found little direct evidence of a consistent posture toward the Trump administration. Its U.S. coverage mainly concerns the effect of U.S. tariffs, trade and visa policy on India, and the tone is closer to mixed than to a fixed partisan line.
