Happi
U.S. trade/industry — non-political B2B
Background
Happi traces its origins to June 1964, when Rodman J. Zilenziger launched a trade journal called Detergent Age while working in publishing. Within a few years the title was rechristened Household And Personal Products Industry — giving rise to the HAPPI acronym — to reflect its broader scope covering beauty, skin care, hair care, and home cleaning markets. Zilenziger formally established Rodman Publishing Corp. in 1978 and expanded into other B2B titles, including Nonwovens Industry (launched 1970), before retiring in 1993. The company rebranded from Rodman Publishing to Rodman Media Corp. in January 2013. Zilenziger died in early 2014; the company has continued under subsequent leadership. Happi serves roughly 30,000 subscribers worldwide, primarily chemists, brand managers, purchasing professionals, and executives in the $700 billion personal care and household products sector. As a specialist trade publication, it does not carry general political commentary; its editorial focus is formulation science, regulatory updates, ingredient trends, and company news within its covered industries.
