The Human Rights Campaign is the largest LGBTQ+ advocacy and lobbying organization in the United States, funded almost entirely by member donations with no corporate parent or government funding. It is explicitly progressive in orientation, existing specifically to advance LGBTQ+ civil rights. Since January 2025, HRC has been one of the most vocal institutional critics of the Trump administration's second-term rollbacks of LGBTQ+ protections.
Owned byMember-governed nonprofit; no private owner. Operates as a 501(c)(4) lobbying organization with a separate 501(c)(3) educational arm, the HRC Foundation. Current president is Kelley Robinson (since November 2022).
