Indian pro-government (Hindi-language, close to the BJP)
India TV is a privately owned Indian Hindi news network controlled by the family of editor-in-chief Rajat Sharma. Critics and media-ownership researchers describe it as close to India's ruling BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Its coverage of the Trump administration is mainly framed through India's interests: it reports tariffs and trade-deal developments from an Indian viewpoint and does not take a clear pro- or anti-Trump line.
Owned byIndependent News Service Pvt. Ltd. (INS), founded in 1997 by Rajat Sharma and his wife Ritu Dhawan. Sharma is chairman and editor-in-chief, and the Sharma family controls the company.
