investingLive
financial trade press (forex/markets industry), not politically aligned
Background
The site launched in 2008 as ForexLive, built around live, analyst-written commentary on currency markets. It was originally spun out of the broker FXDD and held by FXDD's parent, Currency Mountain Holdings; in 2014 the analysts running the site, led by Adam Button, bought it out for a nominal sum, making it an independent, analyst-owned outlet. In 2017, Finance Magnates (an Israel/Cyprus-based financial-markets media and events firm, also known for the Finance Magnates and Finance Feeds trade press) acquired ForexLive to expand into retail-trader news, and it has remained under that ownership since. In July 2025 the outlet rebranded from ForexLive to investingLive to reflect broader coverage of stocks, commodities and crypto alongside forex, though the company says ownership and editorial team were unchanged. Its business model relies on display advertising, sponsored content and referral/affiliate relationships with forex and CFD brokers, a common model in retail-trading media that creates some incentive alignment with the brokerage industry it covers. Editorially, it is a niche trade-press/market-newswire outlet rather than a general political news source, known for fast, terse headline-style updates on data releases, central-bank actions and breaking market-moving events; it carries little opinion journalism and its coverage of U.S. politics is almost always framed through market impact rather than partisan commentary.
