Iowa Public Radio
U.S. center-left (mainstream public media; NPR-style)
Iowa Public Radio is an independent, listener-supported nonprofit that owns about 26–27 public radio stations across Iowa and carries NPR programming. Its news coverage follows mainstream public-media norms, and its audience and editorial culture lean center-left, as is typical of NPR-affiliated outlets. I did not find a systematic review of its coverage of the second Trump administration. Its reporting appears to be mostly straight news, with local focus and explicit coverage of how federal public-media cuts affect the station.
Owned byIowa Public Radio, Inc., an independent nonprofit public benefit corporation. Since July 2022 it has been a community licensee that owns its roughly 26–27 stations. Before that, the stations were licensed to the University of Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa.
