Israel Hayom is Israel's most widely read daily newspaper, founded in 2007 by American casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson and now owned by his widow, Miriam Adelson. It has a firmly right-wing editorial line, historically functioning as a strong booster of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud party, earning it the nickname 'Bibiton.' Its stance toward the Trump administration is mixed: owner Miriam Adelson is one of Trump's largest donors, yet the paper has published sharply critical pieces — including an open letter calling Trump a failure — when his policies on Iran were seen as harmful to Israeli interests.
