The Japan Times is Japan's oldest English-language daily. It is owned by the PR firm News2u Holdings and funded by subscriptions and advertising. Its editorials are generally liberal-internationalist and often critical of Trump's tariff and alliance policies, while its news coverage centers on how U.S. moves affect Japan and is largely factual.

Owned byPublished by The Japan Times, Ltd., a subsidiary of News2u Holdings, a Tokyo-based public relations and press-release distribution company. It bought the paper from the auto-parts maker Nifco in 2017.
