KPBS

KPBS is a public media outlet owned by San Diego State University, operating both a PBS-affiliated television station (channel 15) and an NPR-affiliated radio station (FM 89.5). It is funded mainly through member donations and university support, after Congress eliminated its federal funding in 2025. As an NPR/PBS affiliate, its news coverage generally reflects the center-left orientation of those networks and has been critical of Trump administration policies, particularly those targeting public media.
