Lucianne.com
U.S. right (conservative/populist right)
Background
Lucianne.com was founded by Lucianne Goldberg, a New York literary agent and longtime Republican activist. Sources I found give 2003 as the founding year; I could not confirm whether an earlier version existed. She became widely known in the late 1990s for her role in the Monica Lewinsky story. She advised Linda Tripp, who had secretly recorded Lewinsky, and she helped bring the matter to journalists and to lawyers in the Paula Jones case. The site works mainly as a link aggregator and user forum. Registered members post links to news articles and comment on them, with the stories often drawn from Fox News, Just the News, Gateway Pundit and other right-leaning outlets. It is often compared with the Drudge Report, though it relies more on member submissions than on a single editor. Critics have called the forum partisan and prone to amplifying unverified claims, and Media Matters reported that the U.S. Marines pulled an ad from it. Goldberg died in October 2022 at age 87. Her staff said her son Jonah Goldberg, a conservative commentator who has criticized parts of Trump-era politics, would not take over the site. Recent traffic estimates show about 2 million monthly visits in September 2026, down about 10% from August. Since Trump's return to office in January 2025, the site's content and community have generally been supportive of the administration, though I did not find a formal editorial position.
