The National is an English-language news outlet based in Abu Dhabi. It is owned by a company controlled by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a senior UAE royal. Its opinion pages tend to reflect Abu Dhabi's foreign-policy priorities, and they mix UAE-friendly commentary with a range of outside contributors.
