Despite its name, it covers national and international topics as well as Kerala. Much of its content appears to be wire copy. At least some articles come from the Indo-Asian News Service (IANS), for example a story on Kerala's chief minister writing to PM Modi about Indians in West Asia. IANS was founded in 1986 and, per the search summary I retrieved, a majority stake was acquired by the Adani Group's AMG Media Networks in December 2023. That means some of the copy NewKerala carries comes from an agency with Adani ownership. I found no evidence that NewKerala itself has changed ownership, and I found no documented controversies specific to it. Because the site mostly republishes agency stories, its slant depends on its sources and is not an independent editorial voice.
