Newsmax is a conservative cable news and digital media company founded in 1998 by Christopher Ruddy, who remains CEO and controlling shareholder. The outlet operates with an explicitly stated editorial policy of supporting the sitting president and his policies, and has maintained a pro-Trump posture since well before Trump's return to office in January 2025. In August 2025, Newsmax settled a $67 million defamation lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems over its false 2020 election coverage, without issuing a retraction.
