The Post Millennial
U.S.-Canadian right
Background
The Post Millennial was founded in 2017 in Montreal, Canada, by Matthew Azrieli and Ali S. Taghva, with Azrieli initially self-funding the outlet. From its earliest years, the site drew criticism for blurring the line between news reporting and conservative advocacy; a 2019 CBC investigation documented personnel ties between its staff and the Conservative Party of Canada. In May 2022, U.S.-based Human Events Media Group — which also owned the storied conservative print publication Human Events — acquired the outlet for an undisclosed sum, moving control to American hands and accelerating its focus on U.S. culture-war and political stories. In May 2024 the site suffered a serious data breach in which hackers defaced its homepage with a fake message attributed to editor-at-large Andy Ngo and stole roughly 45 million rows of subscriber, writer, and mailing-list data. In November 2025, JTN Networks — the parent of Just the News, founded by journalist John Solomon — acquired both The Post Millennial and Human Events, combining them into a broader right-wing media portfolio. Editor-at-large Andy Ngo, who built his reputation covering Antifa and left-wing protests in Portland, was among the journalists invited to a White House Antifa roundtable in October 2025 under Trump's second term. Media Bias/Fact Check rates the outlet as Right Bias with Mixed factual reporting, citing a pattern of story selection that favors conservative viewpoints and several failed fact-checks involving unsubstantiated claims.
