Pravda.ru is a privately owned Russian online news outlet founded in 1999 by former journalists of the Soviet-era Pravda newspaper, and is legally and organizationally distinct from the Communist Party paper that shares the name. Its owner, Vadim Gorshenin, is a publicly stated supporter of Vladimir Putin, and the outlet consistently promotes pro-Kremlin and Russian nationalist viewpoints while reporting negatively on the West. Coverage of the Trump administration has been mixed: initially favorable when Trump signaled a more Russia-friendly posture on Ukraine, but shifting toward criticism as U.S.-Russia relations remained complicated through 2025–2026.
