RT is a television and online network created and funded by the Russian government to present Kremlin-aligned perspectives to international audiences. It is run by editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan, a close Putin ally, and its coverage consistently reflects official Russian state positions on Ukraine, NATO, and the West. Toward the Trump administration, RT's coverage has been mixed: broadly favorable when U.S. actions align with Kremlin interests (skepticism of NATO, criticism of European allies) but critical when the administration maintains sanctions, arms Ukraine, or confronts Russia directly.
