Syrian state (government of the post-Assad transitional authorities)
SANA is Syria's official state news agency. It is owned and controlled by the government and the Ministry of Information. Its coverage reflects the line of Syria's transitional government and gives little weight to outside views. It does not take a consistent editorial position on the Trump administration. It mainly reports U.S. actions and statements as they relate to Syrian government policy, such as sanctions relief and diplomacy.
Owned byOwned by the Syrian state and run under the Ministry of Information in Damascus. It has been overseen by Information Minister Hamza al-Mustafa since the transitional government formed in 2025. Zyad Mahameed was named director in April 2025.
