Syrian state media
SANA is Syria's official state news agency, founded in 1965 and funded entirely by the Syrian government. Under Assad it functioned as a regime propaganda outlet; since Assad's fall in December 2024, a new transitional government has been reforming it. Its coverage of the Trump administration has been broadly favorable, reflecting the new Syrian government's warm reception of Trump's decisions to lift U.S. sanctions on Syria and move to rescind Syria's designation as a state sponsor of terrorism.
