Background
Social Europe was launched in 2005 by Henning Meyer, Detlev Albers, and Stephen Haseler as an online journal for social democratic policy debate, initially operating from London. In 2018 it relocated to Berlin, where it is published by Social Europe Publishing & Consulting GmbH, with Henning Meyer serving as CEO and Editor-in-Chief. The outlet describes itself explicitly as a social democratic think tank and digital media platform, built around the values of freedom, sustainability, and equality.
