Background
Türkiye Today was founded in June 2024 as an English-medium news platform under İhlas Media Group, a subsidiary of İhlas Holding, one of Turkey's largest conglomerates with interests spanning media, construction, finance, and mining. İhlas Holding is controlled by the Ören family, who also own the flagship Turkish-language newspaper Türkiye, historically identified with religious-conservative and pro-government politics since the Erdoğan-era alignment of much of Turkey's mainstream media.
