TIKR
U.S. financial/investment media, non-political
Background
TIKR was founded in 2019 by Sahil Khetpal, a former hedge fund analyst, and Bobby Sankhagowit, with the stated goal of giving individual investors access to the kind of financial data previously available only through expensive tools like the Bloomberg Terminal (which costs roughly $20,000 per year). The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and incorporated as Tikr Media, Inc. In February 2021, TIKR raised $3.4 million from Ada Ventures and Inventum Ventures. The platform covers more than 100,000 stocks globally, providing financials, analyst estimates, valuation metrics, SEC filings, earnings transcripts, and curated news feeds. News aggregated on the platform is sourced from Reuters rather than produced in-house. TIKR also publishes a blog of original articles analyzing stocks and investment concepts, governed by editorial guidelines that emphasize data-driven accuracy, clarity, and an explicit statement that it does not accept payment to promote specific stocks. Because TIKR's focus is financial analysis rather than political or policy journalism, it has no meaningful orientation toward or against any U.S. administration.
