Voz
U.S. right (conservative, Spanish-language)
Background
Voz was founded on July 4, 2022, by Orlando Salazar and Pablo Kleinman. Kleinman is an Argentine-born entrepreneur who hosted a daily talk show on Univision Radio until early 2021. The company is headquartered in Las Colinas, Irving, Texas, and produces Spanish-language news and commentary aimed at U.S. Hispanics, mainly online at voz.us. Salazar has described the content as 'right-of-center'. In February 2023 Voz agreed to buy Spanish Broadcasting System's MegaTV business for $64 million, which would have moved it into television. The deal collapsed amid financial disputes, and Spanish Broadcasting System sued in October 2023. The lawsuit was reportedly settled in 2024 for a multimillion-dollar amount. Media Bias/Fact Check rates Voz 'Right' for bias (6.8) and 'Mixed' for factual reporting (5.0), citing poor and misleading sourcing, with medium credibility overall. The outlet promotes traditional family structures, limited government and constitutional principles. Its readers should know it is an openly conservative outlet with Republican-linked ownership, positioned as an alternative to Spanish-language outlets it sees as left-leaning.
