WGNI-FM is a Wilmington, N.C. adult contemporary music station owned by Cumulus Media, a national radio chain that recently went through bankruptcy and is moving to private ownership. It is an entertainment station with little original political or news programming. I found no evidence of a consistent lean toward or against the Trump administration.
Owned byCumulus Licensing LLC, a subsidiary of Cumulus Media. Cumulus filed for Chapter 11 in March 2026. A court approved its restructuring on April 15, 2026. Under the plan it becomes privately held, with creditors, mainly holders of its 2029 secured notes, taking most of the equity. Cumulus's other Wilmington stations include WWQQ 101.3, WMNX 97.3, WKXS 94.5 and WAAV 980/107.9.
