Background

BeInCrypto launched in 2018, founded by Alena Afanaseva — a former head of a Russian-language financial newswire for traders and a senior editor at brokerage firm Libertex Group — along with a small founding team, during the collapse of the ICO bubble. No major independent media-bias rating organization (Media Bias/Fact Check, AllSides, Ad Fontes Media) had issued a formal rating for the outlet as of mid-2026. Its coverage consistently frames crypto regulation, adoption, and technology in a favorable light; the Trump administration's broadly pro-crypto second term has aligned with that orientation, though BeInCrypto has also reported critically on Trump-family crypto financial conflicts.
