Background

DatacenterDynamics was founded around 2001–2002 by George Rockett, who had started a technology publication in 1998. The UK company Data Centre Dynamics Ltd was incorporated in 2009. It grew from a magazine into a global brand with a news site, print titles, podcasts, research and a large events business. Its parent, now called InfraXmedia, widened its portfolio by acquiring SDxCentral (networking and telecom coverage) and Data Center Nation. Its audience is operators, developers, investors and equipment vendors, and its main commercial customers are the same companies it covers, which is a typical conflict-of-interest risk for trade press. Its coverage is generally pro-industry in outlook: it treats data center growth, AI buildout and investment as the main story and gives less weight to local opposition or environmental criticism than general-interest outlets do. On U.S. policy, it covers the second Trump administration's executive orders on data center permitting, energy supply and environmental rules, plus export controls and tariffs, mostly as news that affects projects and costs. I did not find a record of notable editorial controversies. A fair characterization is a trade outlet with an industry-friendly but not partisan perspective.
