Korea JoongAng Daily is the English-language edition of the JoongAng Ilbo, owned by the family-linked JoongAng Holdings group in Seoul. It generally reflects the mainstream center-right, business-oriented, pro-U.S.-alliance outlook of its Korean parent. Its coverage of the Trump administration is mostly reported from a South Korean national-interest angle, covering tariffs, investment demands, troop and drill issues and Iran-war friction, and it includes critical as well as neutral reporting.
Owned byPublished by JoongAng Holdings (JoongAng Group), a South Korean media conglomerate chaired by Hong Seok-hyun. The group's founder, Samsung founder Lee Byung-chul, started the parent JoongAng Ilbo in 1965, and the group formally separated from Samsung in 1999. The English edition is a sister product of the Korean-language JoongAng Ilbo.
