NAHB / Eye on Housing
U.S. pro-homebuilding industry (center-right trade association)
Eye on Housing is the official economics blog of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), a trade association with more than 140,000 members in homebuilding, remodeling, and related contracting. Funded through member dues and its annual trade show, it publishes data analysis and policy commentary produced by NAHB's in-house economists — making it a direct channel for the homebuilding industry's perspective, with no editorial independence from NAHB's advocacy mission. Its coverage of the Trump administration's second term has been mixed: supportive of executive orders aimed at deregulating housing construction, but openly critical of tariff and immigration enforcement policies that raise builders' costs and restrict construction labor.
