Politico Europe
Pan-European, centrist establishment (EU-policy insider focus; owned by a German publisher)
Politico Europe is a Brussels-based outlet focused on EU politics and policy. It is owned by Axel Springer, a German publisher. It generally takes a centrist, insider-news approach rather than an openly ideological one. Its U.S. political coverage comes largely from the wider Politico newsroom, which the Trump White House has recently clashed with, banning Politico reporters from the White House and Air Force One. Politico Europe's own coverage of the administration is mostly news-driven, focused on transatlantic issues such as trade, tariffs, NATO and Ukraine, and reads as mixed rather than consistently critical or supportive.
Owned byAxel Springer SE, the German media group. Politico Europe began in 2015 as a 50/50 joint venture between Politico and Axel Springer. Axel Springer took full control when it bought all of Politico in 2021 (deal closed in 2021–22). Politico Europe is part of the global Politico group.
