Russian state
RT is a Russian state-funded broadcaster, and its coverage follows the Kremlin's foreign-policy line. Pravda is a Communist Party newspaper that is separate from RT, and Pravda.ru is a different, private site. Their coverage of the Trump administration is not uniform. It tends to be critical of U.S. foreign policy but often friendlier to Trump personally when he is seen as open to talks with Moscow.
Owned byRT is run by ANO TV-Novosti, a non-profit set up by the Russian state. Margarita Simonyan is editor-in-chief and Alexey Nikolov is general director. The Pravda newspaper is owned by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF). Pravda.ru is a separate, privately owned website.
