Protect Our Care is a left-of-center healthcare advocacy organization, not a traditional news outlet. It was founded in 2017 specifically to defend the Affordable Care Act and is led by veterans of Democratic Party politics and the Obama administration. Since the start of the Trump second term, it has run paid advertising campaigns opposing Republican Medicaid cuts and published reports attributing hospital closures and coverage losses to Trump-era health policy.
