WUNC is a nonprofit NPR member station licensed to and ultimately controlled by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, funded mainly by listener donations and underwriting rather than tax dollars. Like most NPR affiliates, its coverage generally reflects a center-left, mainstream-journalism orientation. Its reporting on the Trump administration has tended to emphasize scrutiny of policy impacts (e.g., funding cuts, immigration, health care) more than favorable framing, consistent with NPR's broader national coverage.
